WAKEY'S PAGE
So, my very own page then... ...er...
Hello. That's mainly for people that I know but if I don't, hi anyway. All's quiet on the Wakey front really. It was Daves 18th the other weekend and loads of us went for a curry and a few beers and then back to mine where Ginna created the strangest looking fried egg I have ever seen... I went down to Nottingham for my 18th and we went paintballing which was crazy. Ginna got the living shit shot out of him which was quite funny. I did however get the impression that some of the older guys were taking it a bit too seriously though...And on the night I threw up and Dave briefly fell in love. Oh fuck, was the Morrit the worst gig we could ever have done? I think so. It was a 60's onward cover gig at new year for posh people and we fucked up. We had been practacing for ages with Sophie and Andy in the band but it all went pair shaped on the night- We were loose, my guitar fell apart, Andy's amp broke down, the mix was all wrong, we got kicked off early and payed a hundred quid less than we should have. And I wasn't even drunk! Oh well. Bye, I'm off for a pint.

This is me
If I look slightly out of focus here, I was probably drunk. I find people, including myself, tend to go a little bit fuzzy when they've had a few. In October I was in France for a month and it was good. I think. Thing is, I was generally pretty pissed so I wasn't paying alot of attention. The photos would suggest that I enjoyed myself. I went up the Eifel Tower (is that how you spell it?), it's pretty high. Long days. Yeah, that was a major feature. And so much alcohol it would make the Queen Mother think twice. Christ I hate sobering up. So, how is everyone? I hope you're well and your house is reasonably dry. Mine is, but then I live on top of a mountain. It snowed loads the other week and Dave was stranded at my house for like, three nights. Yeah, and one day we couldnt get to sixth form so we built a huge igloo that we could both stand up in. It fell down the next day though...I need to get out of Teesdale.

My favourite gigs
I went to see Bush supported by Cyclefly at Newcastle university, and that was fairly mental, but I think some of the bands I saw at Leeds 2000 were better. Or maybe I was more inebriated. Idlewild were especially good and they were followed by the Deftones, but I think the band of the weekend were the Foo Fighters. It was crazy in the crowd and I got severely decked, but seeing Grohl and the boys was well worth it. They put bands like Slipknot and Limp Bizkit look like a joke.
I think the best gig I have played recently was Kirkby Stephen. It was a short set but it went really well and the crowd were great. If you happened to be there I'd really like to thank you for a great night. The atmosphere and the other bands were really good. It was a battle of the bands and we came second which was cool. Unforunately I only saw a little bit of the winning band's set, but what I saw was very good. They won a studio session in Kendal and we got tickets to see a guy in Morcambe. We weren't too upset because we have a studio to use and it will be good for those fellas to have a go in one. BUT MORCAMBE?!

My mission to spread the love
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a hippy or anything numb like that, it's just that I don't think that people show their affections as much as they should. That's why John, Dave (the singer from John's other band "Kashmir") and I decided to hand out flowers in Barnard Castle, after a spell in the pub. Needless to say, we recieved a mixed response. The majority of the old ladies took them with great appreciation wheras the blokes gave us some very dirty looks. I think everyone else thought we were a bit mental.
I got insanely drunk the other day.
Oh yes. Very very drunk. So I was told.
